They’ll be joined by three newcomers, including Parielle Davis, one of the leaders of the fight against Northwestern’s bid to stage large-scale commercial events

Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss appears headed to another four-year term of office, registering 62% of the vote with 44 of the city’s 45 precincts reported, unofficial totals show.
Five of the Council’s incumbents look to have solidly nailed down victories, joining him — Clare Kelly in the First, Krissie Harris in the Second, Jonathan Nieuwsma in the Fourth, Bobby Burns in the west side Fifth, and Tom Suffredin in the northwest Sixth.
First-time candidates Shawn Iles in the Third, Parielle Davis in the Seventh and Matt Rodgers in the southeast Eighth look to have won the remaining seats, with Rodgers comfortably ahead of Devon Reid, the lone incumbent to lose.
Davis served as Vice President of the Most Livable City Association, leading the group efforts to oppose the rezoning of Ryan Field to allow large-scale commercial events.
Rodgers served as the chair of the Land Use Commission, which had recommended against granting the university that part of its application.
