Evanston, IL – The Executive Board of the Downtown Evanston SSA is pleased to welcome Andy Vick as our new Executive Director. Andy grew up in Evanston, and attended Evanston Township High School, so he knows our community well.
He has recently returned to his hometown after working in other cities in a similar capacity to what this role will entail. His relevant past positions include Executive Director of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs, CO, and Executive Director of the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland, MD. His history of volunteerism for a variety of nonprofit organizations rounds out his experience, giving him a solid understanding of what board members need in a leader and how best to serve a Special Service Area in a complex community like ours.
“It’s so exciting to be back in my hometown, and working to help support and shape the future of Downtown Evanston,” said Andy. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with local business owners, City leaders, partner organizations, and other community stakeholders to implement new programs and promotional strategies that will enhance Downtown Evanston’s brand as a thriving and welcoming commercial destination.”
Laura Brown, recently promoted to Director of Marketing, continues to be an invaluable member of the DTE team, as well. We know she and Andy will make a great team.
